You need the sharpest possible edge quality — PNG's lossless compression preserves crisp edges better than JPG, which introduces compression artifacts around sharp lines
You're providing a file to someone who will place it in Word, PowerPoint, or another document and needs the logo to sit cleanly on the page without a white background box
Choose JPG when file size matters more than transparency — for full-page designs where there's no transparent area anyway, JPG at good quality produces smaller files that are faster to load or email.
How CorelDRAW Normally Exports PNG
In CorelDRAW, File > Export, select PNG, choose your resolution and settings, export. Straightforward if you have CorelDRAW open. The export dialog gives you control over resolution (DPI), colour mode, and whether to include transparency.
The catch: if you don't have CorelDRAW — or if you received a CDR from someone else and you're on a Mac, or a machine without CorelDRAW installed — you need another way.

Resolution Matters for PNG Exports
