How to Convert a Logo PNG to a Print-Ready CorelDRAW Vector

They're convinced it's a "high-quality file" because the resolution says 300 DPI. You need to put it on a 3-metre banner, a van wrap, or a roll-up display. And you know that no matter what the resolution says, enlarging a PNG to that size is going to produce something that doesn't look professional.
The print shop is asking for a vector. The client doesn't know what a vector is. And you're the one in the middle trying to make it work.
Why PNG Logos Fall Apart at Print Scale
PNG is a pixel-based format. Every PNG file contains a grid of coloured pixels at a fixed resolution. When you enlarge a PNG beyond its native resolution, you're asking the software to invent pixel data that doesn't exist — which is why large prints from PNG files look soft, blurry, or pixellated in ways that are obvious when the material is in front of a customer.
A vector file works completely differently. Instead of pixels, it stores mathematical descriptions of shapes: "draw a curve from this point to this point, fill it with this colour." Those descriptions produce perfect output at any size — from a 2cm business card to a 10-metre billboard — because the shapes are recalculated at each output size rather than being stretched from a fixed pixel grid.
When a print shop asks for a vector, they're asking for a CDR, AI, EPS, or SVG file. They're not trying to be difficult — they genuinely need this to produce quality output.
The Problem With Many PNG Logos
The issue isn't just size. Many PNG logos that clients send have additional problems:
The background isn't transparent — the logo sits on a white square, which makes it impossible to place on coloured backgrounds without an ugly white box around it
The resolution, despite what it says in the file info, wasn't captured at print quality
